All the world's a stage...

(Just maybe not always the type you'd expect!)

Theatre.  It’s the oldest form of mass entertainment and we absolutely love it.

People in front of people delivering material that they have rehearsed and perfected for pure enjoyment.  People using language and performance to communicate and educate.  People taking others on a journey, all while being taken on a journey themselves.

There is such freedom in being given space to explore a range of emotions time and again, giving breath to well-crafted prose, and not being judged for your display but rather, being celebrated for your skill and bravery!

And.  There is such power in engaging an audience.  During those moments on stage you have the undivided attention of those around you, and of your audience - you have the permission to shape their thoughts and feelings.  You have free rein to make them laugh out loud, to pique their curiosity, to cause them to reflect or to perhaps make them cry in solidarity with your character’s plight.

These are the moments we live for as actors and, at Showstopper Kids we want to give our participants a taste of that magic.

Fully kitted out spaces complete with lighting rig, trap doors and heavy stage curtain are wonderful, but we say the lack of a technical and professional stage should not be the denial of the opportunity to experience wonder of acting itself.

Participants at Showstopper kids will learn the fundamentals of acting and stage craft.  They’ll develop new skills and discover hidden talents while having fun and making new friends in our safe and encouraging environment.

Talk to your school teacher or local youth centre about booking a workshop with us.  We'll transform whatever space they have into a place where children can thrive as they showcase their talents to their peers, and have performance opportunities at the end of each day.
